Fibre Lash Review

I'm about half way through my Fibre Lash Mascara, and I got to tell you how much it has changed my life! In a box you get 2 Mascara's. One regular black mascara, the other a small mascara full of white fibres. You start with a coat of black, then the white fibres, and then finally another coat of black to finish!

It is simple to use, and you get amazing results! I find it changes the look of eye having that extra length and it makes me feel much more comfortable not wearing eye-liner (which is almost a must for me.)

My eyes are quite sensitive, and I was concerned that maybe the fibres would irritate my eyes and make them look red and feel irritated, but I found once the mascara is set you can’t actually feel the fibres, they don’t flake during the day and it comes of SO easy with water. Literally you can feel the fibres remove in clumps, it’s no mess, and you don’t end up with a face full of streaky mascara!

The only one thing I would say is to be wary off is not to put the fibres brush to  close to your lash line and rather coat the tips of your lashes and I found it can make your eyes feel slightly like they have a foreign object in there.

Would I buy this mascara again? YES off course, its honestly one of the few mascaras I've actually felt satisfied with. I would consider buying other competitors versions of fibre lash to see the differences. But Fibre lash is my new love.

Fibres lash can be purchased in Boots for £35.00

BB Cream or CC cream?

BB Creams

Meaning: Beauty balm or Blemish balm,
An Advance tinted moisturiser, with endless benefits,
BB cream is the world's best tinted moisturiser, packed with tons of benefits as well as SPF. Designed to be an all in one product, they moisturise, prime, perfects and protects the skin. Perfect for anyone who does not have the additional time to separately moisturise, prime, use foundation and SPF protection.
Like a tinted moisturiser they offer moderate coverage, and have light-reflecting particles that give your skin a dewy, luminous look!
Most BB creams have additional extras such as reducing pore size, containing anti ageing properties and controlling oil.
BB creams can also be used as a primer, moisturiser, and foundation!

CC Creams

Meaning: Colour correcting or complexion correcting
Packed with vitamins C and E, colour CC cream is similar to BB cream, but focuses on colour correction.
CC cream's primary purpose is to correct colour-related skin issues, such as un-even skin tone, redness, blemish marks, sun spots and dullness. CC cream neutralizes the skin and focuses on fixing colour related skin issues over time!
CC cream has a lighter coverage, and has a less “dewy” texture compared to the BB crème, making it a great base before foundation. Like a BB crème it offers the additional extras such as SPF protection, hydration, and anti aging properties.

Overall try to follow this rule!
Think of BB Cream as"make-up with skincare benefits".

Think of CC cream as"skin care with cosmetic benefits”.

Benefit - They're Real! mascara

I purchased this mascara at a Benefit counter in John lewis.  What grabbed my attention is the tag line "UK's NO.1 best selling  mascara!" And since I'm always complaining about my lashes, I was instantly drawn in, and I simply could not resist, I had to give it ago!

As you can see in my before photo my lashes grow straight out, and they are not too full.

Tada! This is my after photo! Not bad huh?! I especially love the lift, No lash curlers were used!

So far what I am loving about this Mascara is the brush, the design is so innovative, it's not too thick or heavy, its flexible, and it feels so through when using!  The mascara does exactly what it does on the packet. It offers length and lift and volume although, I have to say I'm impressed!

My only annoyance is that it's difficult to remove, and I feel it is drying up a tad faster that my previous mascaras.

Horray for Benefit! I'm a satisfied customer. Does anyone else try endless Mascara's? What are your favourites?

Hair Envy

I've always wanted to jump in on the ombre hair trend, but my hair is always a light white blonde, and most of the products on the market are designed for brunettes, I have always felt Ombre hair colour is not for blondes

I have been doing some research on what I can do with my hair next and I have discovered blonde's can go ombre!

This is my current goal for summer! Instead of brown/blonde ombre, I want dark to medium blonde roots with white ends! I'm currently deciding to try to do it myself or take the plunge at the hair dressers!

I am SO Exited!

I am forever on a quest to get the perfect lashes! Although mine are long, I find they are thin with no curl. I would wear fake eyelashes everyday if I had the patience for it, and that my eyes were not as sensitive!

I present to you the next product that I'm extremely excited to receive! The product is Fibre Lash by ModelCo. I originally saw it in Boots for £35.00, but I purchased it on-line for £10 cheaper! The product works in a 3 step system. Apply lash mascara, then apply the white fibres which build extended length, 3rd  and finally coat with black mascara, it says it washes of easily too!

I cannot wait, I have heard there are so cheaper alternative mainly being Alpha Lash  but I hope this satisfies my need for having perfect lashes!

Illamasqua Mystery Box Unboxed

I was so excited when I saw this box! I walked past these boxes in the Southampton Debenhams, when I was trying to hunt down a bag that I saw previously in another Debenhams store, and I am so glad I noticed them!

I was originally picked up the eye and nail mystery box for £17.50 which contained
  • Precision ink in Glister (opalescent nude). Can be used as a liquid eyeliner or nail art pen.
  • Liquid metal in Electrum (rich metallic cream in antique gold). Can be used on eyes, face and body.
  • 2 x nail varnishes in mystery shades
  • 2 x powder eye shadows in mystery shades

But I decided the Illamsqua Alter Ego box for £19, had a better selection of products for me to try out.

  • Nail varnish in Collide (bright neon pink).
  • Liquid metal in Electrum (rich metallic cream in antique gold). Can be used on eyes, face and body
  • 1 x lipstick in mystery shade
  • 1 x blusher in mystery shade
  • 1 x lipgloss in mystery shade
  • 1 x eyeshadow in mystery shade

This is what I got inside my Box!

First look in my box, really impressed!
I got the lipstick colour tramp, which is described as classic rose red, with a matte finish, the colour has been discontinued by Illamasqua.

Tramp By Illamasqua, Excellent name.

Eye-shadow Colour called "Lestat" which is another discontinued product, and is described as a pure black, with a matte finished.

Lestat by Illamsqua, works brilliantly with my liquid metal too.

I initially thought this was the worse pick off the bunch, as I have other black eye shadows and the drop under the eyes is horrendous, and with it being highly pigmented I thought the colour would be too strong. But its actually very smokey, works well with other colours, and I can use it with my sealing gel as a eye-liner.

The other lip product I got was an intense lip gloss called "femme" which I looks really vivid, but comes out as a beautiful intense coral, and is the perfect colour for every day use. yet again this is another discontinued product by illamasqua,

Femme by Illamasqua

Blusher in "unrequited" which is a soft baby pink, super pigmented, and it has a nice warm tone to give the skin added radiance.
Unrequited By Illamasqua

Here are my swatches of the guaranteed products I got in the box.

Firstly my liquid metal by in Electrum which can be used anywhere on the face on body, It would be so nice to use on the face as a highlighter, but for my pale complexion is too strong, but I love love love gold eye shadows, and would be perfect as a eye liner, When swatched the product doesn't feel greasy and leaves no residue at all.
Electrum by Illamasqua

The nail varnish collide is a lovely hot pink, really cheerful, and wow! I have purchased a few other illamasqua nail varnish before so I know what they live up to expectation wise, illamasqua never fail to produce nothing but exceptional nail varnishes which are highly pigmented, and long lasing, and I am so glad to have this one is in my collection.

2 coats of Collide by Illamasqua, 2nd day no chips yet.

Overall I am so happy with what i got in my mystery box, normally some form of a goodie bag or mystery box means that they are excess, and discontinued colours. So there is a risk involved off getting some awful colours, that you might not actually use, but everything I received in this box is perfect, and I actually regret not picking up the eye and nail box now!

But if you past one of these on your travels, pick one up! An illamsqua eye shadow retails for about £15.50 alone, so with everything you get in the box, they are well worth the money!

Rimmel Match Perfect Foundation 100 Ivory

Tried: Rimmel Match Perfect Foundation 100 Ivory
Price £8.99
What the label says;

Match Perfection’s Smart-Tone™ Technology mimics the skin’s texture and tone for superior blendability and a flawless finish. It’s blue sapphire pigments deliver a more accurate, fresher colour and the formulation is enhanced with an Oxygenating Complex to let skin breathe. The result gives you a more naturally radiant looking appearance and ensures the colour stays truer for longer.

Verdict;

The pigment is a better quality for Rimmel products, producing a more balanced and realistic skin tone, but still contains nasty orange cheap pigments, and for someone with fair skin, orange pigments are a huge problem.

The coverage is good, and covers obvious skin flaws; my main problem with this foundation is the texture. It is horribly thick and sticky, and especially during the summer months is a product you do not want to use on your face.

When applied the product is thick, oily and shiny leaving the only option to be matted down with powder, overall this product does not do as described and let “skin breathe”, and is a nightmare for people prone to break outs.

The product is also highly fragranced, which reminds me of a deodorant scent. The fragrance is too pungent for every day use, and lingers on the skin.

Overall the bottle is long lasting, but is problematic for certain skin types. I'm sure like me your get sick of this foundation before the bottle runs out.

The price is too high for the [poor] quality off foundation you’re receiving, with many other brands matching this price band.
